CSA box de Olivier de Serres

I Love my French CSA box. That stands for Cagette Super Authentique! This is the morning harvest from Camont’s super organic potager and a tribute to Olivier de Serres, the 16th century self-taught agriculturist, who under Henri IV suggested the potager be planted by the common man and that farmers rotate and diversify their crops. See, nothing is new, kids.

So under a hot-alreadygascon sun, I picked and picked until my Cagette was full of Super Authentique organic fare–fresh from the potager carré. All the hard work that JK put into the potager in May is filling this beautiful Gascon CSA now. I heart Jojo!

If you are interested in being an organic garden intern at the kitchen-at-camont and responsible for these close to the earth miracles, please comment below. Fall ’09 and spring ’10 positions open.
Dear Kate Hill,
I would like to apply for the position of organic garden intern. I am available for either the fall or the spring. I have experience in home gardening as well as have taken classes in plant science. I am an avid kitchen garder, most interested in tomatoes and herbs. I have some construction experience, working on garden structures, patios, irrigation. I have also installed tile, painted, and other home improvement projects. Having said this my dream is to be an organic farmer in Sonoma County. I am very interested in hearing more about what is expected for someone in this position.
Please consider me for one of your intern positions.
Regards,
Oliver Simpson
