11/11/11: PIG, PIE & EYE

Join Kate McDermott (Art of the Pie) and me for a celebratory extended weekend beginning 11/11/11 of good Gascon food and fun in the Kitchen-at-Camont. Friday- Monday +++

PIG, PIE & EYE are the way we describe these two Kates as we join together for a four day fete of exploring the farms, markets and kitchens of Gascony this November.  From the heritage fruit and orchard museum just down the canal to the Chapolard family charcuterie farm, Kate McDermott and Kate Hill share with you their insights, recipes and philosophy of bringing good food to the table. To make a memorable souvenir, Tim Clinch will lead our merry band of food photographers through the Gascon countryside and to our tables.

What’s in store? 4 days of good fun and frolicking where the French celebrate the good life everyday!

  • 400 heritage apples in one nationally revered orchard ove over 1200 rare cultivars. Perfect for PIE!
  • Leaf lard straight from the butcher shop and PIG farm.
  • Monet’s game & pork pie come to life
  • Nerac’s famous Autumn market foraging scavenger Photographer hunt
  • Armagnac and wine tasting at  private cellars.
  • Gascon Pork BBQ and long leisurely lunches… convivial suppers and dinners out.
  • Baking baking baking. Pie Pie Pie.

Rates are 250 euros a day including all breakfasts,  lunches, daily classes, excursions and touring.

Not included transportation and accommodations at our favorite nearby Chateau. See here: http://kitchen-at-camont.com/location/where-do-we-sleep/ For more information contact Kate Mc D or me directly.
