Gascony: A Taste
Day market & cooking class at Camont
We start our day classes at half nine with a trip to a nearby village farmer’s market to shop for our fresh produce, bread, meat and foie gras – and anything else that takes our fancy – taking time to talk to the producers about their work and wares. After a quick stop for coffee at the ubiquitous Cafe des Sports – and perhaps something sweet from the patisserie – it’s back to Camont to get cooking. We are happy to meet requests when it comes to the menu, or you can leave it to us to plan a four-course seasonal Gascon lunch. We eat the fruits of our labours at around 2, and usually linger round the table until 4. Taste Gascony days are 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.
